Time does not heal you, it only moves
I thought time would fix things.
It turns out they just pass.
Some people grow through it.
Some just go through it.
And I had to learn the hard way.
That waiting is not the answer.
Because I thought that time would bring me:
A detailed roadmap
A step-by-step guide to fix my life
The strength I need to overcome my fears
A miracle
But the more I wait, the more I realise that those miracles will never come.
Because I don’t need that.
I just need to act.
One small act at a time.
One action to break all the inaction.
Because small is not equal to useless.
Small is where momentum begins.
So, now, if you are in a period of waiting for the perfect time, for the right moment, for help, for a miracle to change your life…
Stop waiting.
Start healing.
Reply to that email you have been avoiding.
Open your portfolio file and add one new thing.
Watch one less video tonight and write for ten minutes instead.
Go for a walk without your phone and let your thoughts breathe.
Do something.
Change yourself, so you can change your life.
You are not required to become a new person overnight.
You are only required to become slightly less stuck than yesterday.
So ask yourself:
What is one thing you can do today that your future self will thank you for?
Not a dramatic move.
Not quitting your job on impulse.
Not starting five new projects at once.
Just one thing that is aligned with the life you actually want.
Send that message.
Apply for that thing.
Read two pages.
Stretch for five minutes.
Write one paragraph.
When you repeat small things long enough, they stop being small.
They become your identity.
You are no longer “the one who always waits”.
You become “the one who shows up, even when it is hard”.
You are allowed to outgrow your own excuses.
You are allowed to stop telling the same sad story about yourself.
You are allowed to want more and actually do something about it.
This is not about hustling 24/7.
This is not about sacrificing your health or your relationships.
This is about choosing to participate in your own life instead of watching it pass by.
Time will keep moving with or without you.
The question is whether you move with it.
So if you needed a sign, this is it.
Not from the universe.
Not from a stranger on the internet.
From yourself, who chose to read this post.
From the version of you who is tired of waiting.
From the version of you who is quietly rooting for yourself, even on the days you feel like a failure.
Stand up.
Close the gap between who you are and who you want to be.
One tiny action at a time.
Time will not fix things.
But if you start now, you can fix yourself.
I hope you find this insightful. Remember:
It’s not going to be easy,
But it’s not impossible.
Your friend,
Brian.

Thanks for sharing this. The reminder came at the right time.
Love the line "When you repeat small things long enough, they stop being small." So true. And so glad I finally figured that out. But I still need to keep reminding myself.
